Why I created Eddie

A character from Mini Gabi World

I created this character because I find it very difficult to be in groups.It often feels like you’re not allowed to think for yourself — nuance is rarely welcome.Even alternative spaces can be full of prejudice if your thinking is more “conventional.”

It’s exhausting to be original.

Edie was born from this experience.

She’s an independent thinker. Quietly observant.A misfit within misfits who likes nuance.

Edie doesn’t argue her point. She doesn’t try to convince.She watches, listens, questions, and makes her own truth.

She believes nuance is strength —that you can think for yourself and still be respectful.

That optimism works best when it’s backed by facts, not slogans.

Edie was inspired by my own upbringing.

I grew up in a very polarised family, and over time I’ve learned to look for nuance,to escape absolutes, and to resist the pressure to “pick a side.”

Edie lives in Misfit Mansion — a place in Mini Gabi World where all misfits should be welcome.But just like in real life, that’s not always how it works.
