Unfairness Doesn’t Fix Itself: Cookie’s Story

This year, I’ve been diving deeper into the personalities of my characters in Mini Gabi World. They’re not just figures in a whimsical universe—they reflect real emotions, challenges, and quirks that I, and many others, experience in everyday life.

Recently, I came across a significant case of copyright infringement involving one of my artworks. It’s been a challenging experience, but it’s also reinforced my commitment to standing up for my rights as a creator.

At the heart of Mini Gabi World’s ethos is the belief that even life’s toughest challenges can spark growth and creativity. Challenges are part of life—they will never go away. We’re not meant to have a great time all the time, and that’s okay.

Difficulties can be repurposed into something meaningful, whether it’s a lesson, a story, or a spark for creativity.

When I designed Cookie, I imagined her as the fighter—the one who speaks up when something isn’t fair and channels that energy into action

Cookie: The Fighter Misfit

Portrait of Cookie, a character from Mini Gabi World, displayed inside a decorative frame with a vibrant green background. Cookie's bold expression reflects her fearless and outspoken personality.

“Unfairness doesn’t fix itself.”

Cookie lives by the belief that “Unfairness doesn’t fix itself.” She’s the first to call out what isn’t right, whether it’s through her sharp rhymes or bold actions. Cookie doesn’t wait for permission to create change—she takes the first step, even if it feels messy or small.

Her strength goes beyond being loud or dramatic. It’s in the way she sets boundaries, stands up for others, and fights for what matters. Courage, for Cookie, is about showing up—even when it’s hard.

For me, Cookie represents the times when staying silent isn’t an option. Her energy pushes me to act, even when I’d rather wait or hesitate..

Echo: The Chilled Misfit

Portrait of Echo, a character from Mini Gabi World, displayed inside a decorative frame with a sleek grey background. Echo has long hair swept to one side with the other side shaved, and she wears a stylish grey suit coat, reflecting her calm, introspective, and creative personality.

"Let the chaos be your rhythm, not your weight."

While Cookie charges forward, Echo has a different way of handling life’s challenges. She’s calm, reflective, and deeply creative. Her mantra: "Let the chaos be your rhythm, not your weight."

Echo processes chaos through creativity. Whether it’s building rhythms from techno beats or embracing quiet moments, she focuses on what she can control and lets go of the rest. Sometimes, it’s not about solving everything—it’s about finding a rhythm that brings clarity and calm.

Echo’s approach isn’t about avoiding challenges. It’s about transforming them into something meaningful. For her, even the noise of life can be turned into something beautiful.

Bold Moves and Quiet Beats: Life Lessons from Cookie and Echo

This year, I’ve found myself leaning on both of their approaches:

  • Cookie’s energy is about stepping up and taking action when things feel unfair.

  • Echo’s calm is about creating space to process and let go.

Neither path is perfect, but both are powerful. Some days call for action, and others call for reflection. Figuring out which one you need is part of the journey.

Challenges aren’t something to avoid or dread—they’re opportunities to grow, to learn, and even to create. Embracing difficulties instead of resisting them can help us find new ways forward, just like Cookie and Echo do in their own ways.

Cookie or Echo? The Mood of the Moment

Take a moment to ask yourself:

  • Are you feeling more like Cookie today, ready to take bold action?

  • Or are you feeling more like Echo, finding peace in creativity and letting go of the noise?

Both are valid, and sometimes, you might be a little of both.

A Peek at What’s Coming Next

Exploring these characters has sparked a new project I’m excited to share soon. It’s a way to bring their wisdom to life in a creative and interactive format. I can’t share all the details yet, but it’s something you’ll be able to hold in your hands and use for inspiration whenever you need it.

If Cookie or Echo resonates with you, stay tuned. I can’t wait to share more about what’s coming.

Which misfit do you connect with more—Cookie or Echo? Let me know, and keep an eye out for updates soon.
